Nor-Fishing innovation prize 2008 to Seigla

The Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs, Mrs. Helga Pedersen presented the Nor-Fishing’s innovation prize 2008 to Seigla Ehf ofAkureyri,Icelandduring a ceremony on board of the research vessel G.O. Sars on Tuesday the 12th of August.
The prize was awarded for the automatic drop keel on their speed-fishing boat the Seigur. This combines the advantages of both planning and displacement boats. It gives more stability, manoeuvrability, less drifting, higher productivity, less travelling time and more fishing time, in addition the system gives a safer working conditions for the crew.
Seigla Ehf is building boats since the year 2001 and is continuously improving their boats with the latest technology.
